Laois Taste Picnic Bags sell out at Electric Picnic 2023
Laois Taste hosted a tent at the 19th Electric Picnic, offering freshly made Laois Taste produce in our innovative Picnic Lunch Bag, available exclusive to Electric Picnic revellers. The very successful tent was visited by many locals and non locals alike including John and Sally McKenna who were running the Theatre of Food nearby. Other visitors included Fallon Moore from Blas na hEireann, the Irish Food Awards and Sharon Noonan from Best Possible Taste Podcast. The popular picnic bags sold out daily.
A copy of the Picnic Bag menu can be seen in the pictures and featured produce from Fíorbhia Farm, Mueller & O’Connell, O’Mimo’s Chilli Madness, G’s Gourmet Jams, Farmer J’s, Temptation Chocolates, Zephyr Yard, Aghaboe Farm Foods and fresh fruit from O’Mimo’s own orchard. The Merry Mill’s protein balls were also popular and went down a treat with Corrig Hill coffees also located in the Laois Taste tent. Queues formed daily for this fabulous coffee as soon as they opened, and the team worked tirelessly to meet the demand.
Laois Taste members had a strong presence at various aspects of Electric Picnic 2023 with 3 members speaking at the Curious Incredible Regions: Laois in the Theatre of Food, hosted by Sally McKenna. David Walsh-Kemmis from Ballykilcavan Brewing, Brendan Guinan from Fíorbhia Farm and Michael Olamni from Flavour Safari joined Sam Moody from Bramley’s Abbeyleix as they chatted to Sally McKenna on all things local, sustainable and around ollaboration in networks.
Laois Taste members were present in other areas too including Kevin Scully from the Merry Mill with his Porridge Bar in the Salty Dog
